Meetings

Meetings are held twice a month from October through April.

Program Meetings: We gather at 7:00 pm on the first Tuesday of each month in the Community Room of Wildware Backcountry, 995 Peiffer's Lane, Harrisburg, Pa. 17109 (717-564-8008). Afterwards we generally visit the nearby Your Place for snacks and a brew.

Dinner Socials: We usually meet at 7:00 pm on the Wednesday fifteen days after the program meeting.  We eat, gab and do a little informal business at these affairs. It's a nice time to get to know each other a little better.

Members are asked to PLEASE avoid parking in the small lot that serves Wildware.  There is parking at the top and to the right of the drive leading to the store.  There is also a parking lot behind the Wildware store.  It is reached by turning at Sunnycrest from Peiffer's Lane.

Picnic/Music in the Nissley Vineyard

Mark your calendars now for a Kick 'n Glider August happening.  On August 7, we will gather for an evening of food, drink, talk, laughter, music and dancing on our annual trip to Nissley Vineyards in Bainbridge, PA.  The happening under the stars on the lawn of the Vineyard will be on Saturday, August 7.  The music will be the Headliners who play Top 40 variety, 60's thru 90's.

Bring your picnic dinner and some extra to share, plus your lawn chair or blanket. We purchase wine from Vineyard (no alcohol can be brought in) or bring your own soda or water.  We will talk about trips past and trips in the future, and generally maintain our skiing friendships during the months when we can't ski.

The wine contributes to the laughter and a good time is always had by all attending. The music starts at 7:30 PM. We suggest you plan to arrive around 6:00 PM. Late arrivals have been turned away in the past. Since this is an outdoor event, and the weather can be uncertain, check with the Vineyard at 717/426-3514 if you have questions about the concert being cancelled.

Event leaders are Bill and Kay Pickering. You don't need to make a reservation, but since Bill and Kay will be saving space for our group, it’s a big help to know how much space to save. E-mail Bill at: billpick55@comcast.net. The price for a General Admission ticket is $15.00 to be purchased as you enter. No credit cards or out of area checks are accepted at the Admissions Tent. More information can be found at: www.nissleywine.com/lawn_concerts.htm.
